A vacancy has arisen for a Marine Engineering Superintendent at PD Ports within the Marine Engineering department.

 

Location: Vulcan Street, Middlesbrough, TS2 1LX

Working Arrangements: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

The five main things our Marine Engineering Superintendent will be working on are:

·       Overseeing maintenance, repairs and performance of marine vessels – with a focus on electrical and electronic systems.

·       Managing dry-docking, refits and upgrades to ensure vessel reliability and efficiency.

·       Leading fault diagnostics and troubleshooting across all electrical systems onboard whilst ensuring full compliance with maritime safety, class and statutory regulations.

·       Supporting planned maintenance systems and driving continuous technical improvement.

·       Working closely with crew, contractors and internal teams to minimise downtime and maintain readiness whilst acting as the subject matter expert for electrical systems during audits, inspections, and surveys.

 

We are seeking someone who:

·       Holds a Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency (Class 1) or equivalent marine engineering qualification.

·       Has a strong electrical background – ETO experience highly desirable.

·       Has solid experience in vessel maintenance and repair (dredging/survey vessel exposure beneficial).

·       Possesses in-depth understanding of compliance requirements in a marine setting.
